Michael Connor confirmed as Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works

On a vote of 92-5 on November 4, 2021, the U.S. Senate confirmed Michael Connor to serve as the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works (ASACW). He succeeds R.D. James as ASACW. Jaime Pinkham, who had been serving as Acting ASACW, will return to his position as Principal Deputy ASACW.


Mr. Connor will oversee the Corps of Engineers civil works program and guide policy direction for its water resources activities. He has an extensive public service record on water resources issues, including counsel for the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, Commissioner of the Bureau of Reclamation, and Deputy Secretary of the Department of Interior.
