Bio:

 

Dr. James McCarty is the Environmental Quality Manager for Beaver Water District. Dr. McCarty started his career as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Air Force and followed that with a position as a research associate for the University of Arkansas where he attained his Masters and Ph.D. in Biological Engineering. His main responsibility for the District is to manage their environmental research, lake, and watershed monitoring efforts, and to direct the district’s source water protection program.

 

McCarty received an Early Career Award from the University of Arkansas College of Engineering in 2021 for his work in the water industry and military service.  He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Arkansas and also holds Grade IV Water Treatment and Water Distribution licenses in Arkansas.
