Bio:
Dave Mitamura is the Executive Director of the National Water Supply Alliance. He is a water policy advisor and program administrator, with vast experience at the state and federal levels. He has broad experience in governmental finance, program management and policy development. In his private consultancy, Dave previously provided policy and program support to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers leadership as well as the Institute for Water Resources.
Prior to entering the private sector, Dave served for 4 years in the Texas Legislature and 14 years at the Texas Water Development Board. During his tenure at the Texas Water Development Board, he served in numerous capacities including Budget Director, Director of Policy Integration and Federal Coordination, and Deputy Executive Administrator for Program and Policy Development. Dave supported the State of Texas’ involvement in the Western States Water Council, and he was instrumental in developing a three-state partnership between Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas to engage with the Corps of Engineers on water planning, management and policy issues. Dave has a B.S. in Finance from Drake University and an M.S. in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University. He is also a graduate of the Governor’s Executive Development Program at the University of Texas.
